2015 KTM 1290 Super Adventure First Ride Review. At $20,499, the 1290 Super Adventure is expensive, but it does offer plenty of value by including a bevy of features as standard equipment. Semi-active suspension is included, as is LED cornering lights, heated grips and seat, Cornering ABS and factory saddlebags.
The combination of low seat height, power to weight ratio, and awesome technology on the 790 is so deliciously user-friendly for a rider in the 5’8” to 6’2” size range! Having said that, unlike with my Ninja H2SX SE, the last 18,700 kms or 12,000 miles haven’t been pure bliss.

The 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure and all other motorcycles made 1894-2023. Specifications. Pictures. Rating. Apr 13, 2009. Oddometer: 1,787. Location: Greece. I've replaced the front sprocket on my 1090 twice (once from 17 to a 16, and again to a 16 with rubber cushion) and both times I used the stated 100Nm. No issues. And yes, although I had tightened it to 100Nm the last time I was there it came off relatively easy.
My 1190 Adventure has been filled with Galp engine oil (both at the 1.000 kms and the 15.000 kms services) and, so far, I'm happy with it. Oddly enough, though, the engine oil got quite dark immediately after the 15.000 kms service (during which the oil filter was also replaced, of course).

The 1190 also has nearly three times the HP of your 525. At over 270 pounds, in comparison to other true dirt bikes, your 525 is on the piggy end of the scale. The 1190 stomps your 525 in power to weight ratio. If I was trying to show KTM's "will" to build a light bike, it wouldn't be a 525. It features all of the high tech features that are so common on the new bikes, such as the box-in-box piston design, DLC coated parts, sophisticated ignition system and long 9,000 mile service intervals. The 1190 produces 150 horsepower. Switchable ride modes can bring that down to 100 horse for off road and rain modes. .
