Item 2. These would be my first go to checks. After those, check the micro-switch at the clutch lever to be sure it and the connector are intact. Look at the shift shaft sensor under and behind the counter sprocket. Just for the heck of it, look over the kickstand sensor. . Just checked the fuel tank.
